Learning Fashion

Ask around my friends and they will tell you I have no real idea about fashion.  95% of my life I wear jeans and a t-shirt.  But I do really like pretty things. In my wardrobe I you will find two Annah Stretton dresses and I will not say how much they were. A World top and far to many shoes and boots. I have always liked fashion but have never quite left the "tomboy" stage.  So I have decided to learn about fashion through design and sewing.
Will I be any good? Who knows but I am 45 years old and have nothing to lose so I am going for it.

I have got a notebook, a sewing starter kit and no idea what I'm doing. What could go wrong.  So I've started at the basics: Hand sewing/double-stitch tailor tracking, Single-stitch tailor tracking and Trace tracking. Reading about different styles and sewing them onto small pieces of fabric then putting them in the note. Walked around the local fabric store taking photo of different types of fabrics and buttons etc, thinking about how much I want to know how to use all these fabrics, how will they fall, set on the body. Looking up different looks putting them in my notebook.

I work so this could take some months but I am going to sign up to a online design/dressmaking course soon.  My spelling is not the best but I will try and make my posts as good as I can. I'm excited to know if I can sew and if I can design.
